SHARIFA JORDAN

Sharifa Jordan is a natural networker, creative visionary, and bona fide trendsetter. As a Marketing and Communications Strategist with over a decade of experience across both public and private sectors, she has spent the past 15 years building and leading a successful food and travel enterprise—La Cascina Ristorante (Toronto) and La Cascina Travels—while consulting on innovative start-ups in Canada and Italy.

Combining her expertise as a respected restaurateur with a deep passion for two of her favourite countries—Barbados and Italy—Sharifa launched RUMOLOGY in 2017: the first premium, ready-to-drink bottled cocktail line based on rum, created in collaboration with some of Italy’s top mixologists.

Equal parts entrepreneur and epicure, Sharifa is a fitness enthusiast who works out to indulge—feeling guilt-free in front of a multi-course meal paired with the perfect bottle of wine.

Having worked and lived in Italy (Puglia and Abruzzo) Sharifa has strategized with boutique wineries on how to best position themselves in the international market. She successfully created and presented a proposal to the Minister of Tourism of Abruzzo on ways to promote the region’s presence to foreign travellers.

In her hometown of Toronto, Sharifa began her communications career in the fashion industry, representing a luxury fashion design team and leading them to Toronto Fashion Week and a consignment collection offer with Saks Fifth Avenue, NYC.

Sharifa believes the success of a project is directly tied to how well the vision is communicated. At JORDAN COMMUNICATIONS, we partner with people and products we can proudly stand beside. We love a challenge and understand the importance of keeping a product relevant.

On a personal note, Sharifa is devoted to her Weimaraner dog, Bronx —so much so that the two set off for an unforgettable adventure, relocating to Italy from 2023-2024. What began as a short-term seasonal role at a Sicilian winery evolved into a transformative experience of personal and professional growth, reaffirming her love for Italian food, wine and travel.

While travelling across Italy from north to south, Sharifa was primarily based in the regions of Abruzzo and Puglia. There, she consulted with a Michelin Star Guide restaurant on brand strategy, launched a signature cocktail movement in the tourist area of Gargano and organized beach workouts throughout the summer of 2024.

Sharifa has a highly competitive nature, which led her to complete the NYC Marathon and earn a mention in The New York Times.

Sharifa’s native tongue is English and she has a conversational level of Italian. Her hobbies include fitness, entertaining, dancing, travelling, cooking and shoe shopping. She is passionate about politics and social injustice and is currently working toward her dream project: helping African migrants integrate into Italian society.
